WHY?

What-why-how

I am going to list a few questions you might have asked yourself, as I know I have asked myself these questions before!

1.)  WHY?

2.)  What is my purpose?

3.)  How did I get to this place in life?

What are we seeking when we ask these questions?  Are we seeking answers or purpose, or is it our way of dealing with a lost feeling of life with no direction?  Whatever the case may be, we can’t stop living.  We all have a number of undefined days in life and with each passing one, we have got to know that we made it count in some way.

I’m a dreamer and a visionary and like many, my mind seems to live in “LET’S GO” mode 24/7/365.  But I also have to know that I am a man with a purpose and a WHY and my WHY is not your WHY and unless ordained, no one else can fulfill that WHY!  Still with me?

I look at some great dreamers like Walt Disney, who believed that actually doing the impossible was fun.  I also look at writers like C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, who wrote masterpieces that have gone beyond their years in what is now future generations and touched our hearts with hope and our minds with adventure, while bringing a Kingdom message to all that watch.  What about Henry Ford, who dreamed of a machine that we could get around on, on it’s own power?  And then there was the legendary John D. Rockefeller,  the first billionaire in history.  Although his life was not perfect, he had strong Kingdom beliefs.  He is quoted to have said,  “I never would have been able to tithe my first million dollars I ever made, if I had not tithed my first salary, which was $1.50 per week.”  It has been said that he gave away over $555 million in his lifetime.

I have always been intrigued by visionary dreamers, those that would take a dream and run with it and not look back.  Those that had value and character and respect that was not demanded but instead, earned, as only it can be truly acquired.

The answer to WHY is in the commission that we have all been called to in life.  The WHY is not really a WHY but instead a WHO.  It’s made up of a global sea of faces.  When we are in our WHY, then we can impact the WHO, which in return is fulfilling the greatest command ever spoken and that is “GO YE”.

So next time you wonder WHY, don’t look inside yourself; but instead, look around you at a lost and dying wold filled with the WHO’s you have been called to touch and make a difference.  BUT to do this, you must know HIM!  You might say HIM WHO?  The HIM that loved you so much HE created you in HIS likeness and created a KINGDOM like no other for you to not just live in, but to rule and reign in.  SO it’s time to know HIM so you can then know WHY and then reach WHO the one true KING of KING’s has called you to and so that you will one day be spoken of as one of those uncommon dreamers of then and now.

So open the door and ask HIM into your life as your LORD and SAVIOR forevermore!

FRAGILE

dad scout pic

This blog post is dedicated to my dad, James Peterson Cate II.  He went to heaven on Monday, April 15, 2013.

This week, I have had many people share with me about how my dad did so many things for so many different people.  He was always willing to help anyone and seemed like he could fix anything!  I am pretty sure he owned one of every tool and some things he called tools, I am not even sure what they do! In fact, the Sunday before his death, he stopped and helped a family from church change a flat tire.  He spent many years touching the lives of boys, young men, and adults through the Scouting program.  I myself want to honor his life by carrying on his desire to help others as much as I can.  I love you dad!

Life is truly fragile and is to be handled with care.  Care in the sense that we not waste it and we not allow a day to go by that we don’t make the best of whatever is going on, because in the end, there is no start over or reset button to get back what has been overlooked and lost.  Care that we not take one second for granted with our spouse or children and that we not allow time to pass on our dreams and not live them to the fullest possible.

This care I am speaking of does not represent worry and concern, but instead a love for the life we have been blessed with.

In this blog post, I am not mourning a loss but rejoicing in a victory.  With the daily doom that is poured out over the airwaves via TV, Radio, and Internet, to care for the life we have shows our faith and trust in our heavenly Father above.

I encourage you today to not waste another second of your life, but to care for it and nourish it as the God given gift that it is.  This second you are in is the only one you are guaranteed – so make the best of it for His Kingdom.

So cast the cares and care for this life with a passion that screams I AM ALIVE!

Therefore, eyes up and gear up for the best day of your life is truly at hand.

Gear Up! (Part 8) “The Game Changer”

20130407-132106.jpg

Have you ever been watching a sporting event and suddenly something shifts and becomes a game changer? Life is full of game changers; a raise at your job or a new client with your business. There can be a game changer knocking at your door as you are reading this.

Jesus became our game changer for every area of life. He is the breath of life for a dead marriage. He is a healing touch in the midst of a physical storm. He is the breakthrough that hits right at the perfect moment. He’s everything!!! No matter what, Jesus is the game changer of all game changers.

When I step out to fulfill my dreams, He is the game changer that opens the doors that need to be opened and shuts the ones that need to be closed. We must realize He already knows the answer before we ever even ask the question.

But nothing changes until you become a citizen of the Kingdom. In John 3 we see Jesus saying that unless you are born again, you will never see the Kingdom of God. All your game changers are in His Kingdom. So make the choice today to be a citizen of the Kingdom and make Jesus the Lord of your life.

So with a new week just a matter of hours away, get your head in the game and focused on the game changer. He has put everything in order so that you can live your dreams and make a difference in other’s lives.

So eyes up and gear up for the best is right at hand!

What game changers have you seen Him do for you? Please feel free to write your answers below along with any prayer requests, and/or praise reports.

Friday: Kingdom Thinking: Life is for living the dream and not just thinking about it!

Well that’s it for today, but another week is just around the corner…. So eyes up and gear up to take this new week gladiator style. Rule and dominate every second to it’s fullest and end each day with not a single regret!

Roll The Credits

20130331-192535.jpg

We are taking a step away from the Gear Up posts this week. I wanted to share something the Lord laid on my heart some time back and I felt that now was the time to share it in this post.

I know that everyone reading this, has seen the end of a movie, TV program, or something along those lines, that at the end of the show, they rolled the credits to show who to give credit to. Well some time ago, I was praying and in my mind, I pictured this happening for no reason; but it was giving credit for things such as sickness & disease, injuries, financial failures, and the list just went on and on. But I noticed that as the credits rolled, it was totally focused on giving Satan credit for all these things. Once it reached the end to the all blank and dark screen, I realized that God nor His Son, Jesus, were ever mentioned. Then my thoughts went in another direction and I heard, “Well what about the one who redeemed you from all those things over 2,000 years ago and forever more”? Here’s the wake-up call ladies and gentleman!

My stomach just turns sour every time I hear someone focus the credit to Satan, but to the One who redeemed them from the situation, there is nothing given! I hear people list their hardships of life in detail and talk about Satan this and Satan that and then finish with “but God is good’. I want to say, “Oh really?” It shows where the focus is In that person’s life. We have got to learn to focus on the completed answer and nothing else.

Life is going to have it’s speed bumps and there will be things that make no sense, but those are things we don’t have to receive or take as ours. You might say, “That is just denial”, but I say it’s a faith stand in the fullness of the trust in my Lord and Savior and His completed works at the cross. If there is any denial in this, then I say it’s against Jesus, by giving a defeated coward like Satan any credit at all!

When you roll the credits of life, it should be thanking Jesus for health, wealth, peace, and wisdom in every area and over every thing that you can think of.

So roll the credits and give credit to whom the credit is due for a kingdom life and no matter what, do not allow Satan to have the joy of credit for anything, no matter what!

I pray that you have a blessed Easter and that the true revelation of what this day represents, fills your thoughts forevermore.

Well that’s it for now. It’s time to get your eyes up & gear up for the best is right at hand.

Please feel free to leave your thoughts, prayers, and praise reports below.

Kingdom Thinking Recap – Week 13

Gear Up! (Part 7) “Outside The Wire”

20130324-204810.jpg

I’m sure most have heard the military term “outside the wire”. You might have heard it from family, friends, in a movie or on the news. In the military world, it means leaving the protection of base camp; which in today’s war, base camp is not necessarily always a safe place either, with the weapons that are out there. But, you get the picture….

We have soldiers from every branch, daily going outside the wire to protect your’s and mine’s freedom. They put their lives on the line for those they don’t know. Even with Fire/Rescue, EMS, & Law Enforcement, they have a zone which to them is outside the wire or also called the hot zone, where they put their lives on the line in the very same way.

You might be reading this and have never been in the military, or part of Fire/Rescue, EMS, or Law Enforcement, but you daily still find yourself outside the wire in life. However, this is not God’s design.
God created a perfect Kingdom with no war, lust, sickness, disease, or any other such thing. He created a Kingdom that was truly perfect in every way. It was a place which for a lack of better words, was “inside the wire”.

Now Christ came and died (John 3:16) and put restoration back in the Kingdom for you and I. BUT we still are in a world that is fighting for its darkness. We are surrounded by evil people who really don’t understand they are fighting a lost battle. No matter how many die or how many wrong government decisions are made, the evil that’s around will not ever prevail.

Just like our soldiers, we are daily to go outside the wire and into a world that does not want us to succeed. It does not want us to fulfill our dreams. It wants to beat us down and try and make us give up. But life does not have to win and being beyond the wire does not have to be a fearful place. The war zone of life is a battle field of loss only for the weak. The strong, not by physical strength, but those with a burning desire to please the Father and a unrelenting trust in His love for us, will win. It is true that only the strong survive, but the strength for survival can’t be our own, it must be Kingdom strength.

So leave last week where it belongs – in the past! It’s a new week with a fresh start. Determine that whichever side of the wire you are on, you are there living in victory and not trying to make it a destination.

So eyes up and gear up for you are standing in what could be the best day of your life yet. It’s up to you!
