Pursuing Your Passion

I recently read a quote online from the iconic Steve Jobs. It went something like this, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you have not found it yet, keep looking, and don’t settle”. It is true, we need to find our passion and pursue it.

I read one definition of passion that describes it as: “A strong and barely controllable emotion”. So what is your passion? Mine is to touch lives in all that I do.

Whether you love or hate Apple and the late Steve Jobs, he was a man with passion. People like Bill Gates, Katy Perry, Henry Ford, Walt Disney; the list goes on and on with names of people who have followed their passions. History is full of men and women that had passion to change the present time they lived in which impacted the future that was ahead of them. But only one had enough passion to impact the past, present and future all in one life. His name was Jesus, and He is my all in all in everything!

Passion is what pushes us beyond to think about others almost to the point of risking our own lives. Passion is what pushes a fireman, law enforcement officer or a soldier to put their lives on the line and risk all to save a life that they do not know. Passion moves mountains and changes the here and now and affects the outcome of tomorrow.

I urge you to daily pursue your passions with all your heart.

Kingdom Thinking Thoughts Recap for the Week of September 17th

Well another week has come and gone and it has now become a part of history in your life!  For some, the week might have been great and for others, you might be thanking God that it’s over.  Whichever one fits your life, the Word tells us “old things have passed away and behold all has become new”.  So no matter what history has held, today is a new day and tomorrow will take care of itself. So make the best of the here and now and pursue your passion with all you are and all you have.

Here is a recap of last week’s Kingdom Thinking Thoughts.  I pray each one comes alive in you as you read them.

Monday – Kingdom Thinking: Trying to figure out tomorrow steals away the day.

Tuesday – Kingdom Thinking: The journey of life might have detours; but relax, because they are building growth.

Wednesday – Kingdom Thinking: Discipleship is first lived in us and then imparted into others!

Thursday – Kingdom Thinking: Respect & relationship is key to success.

Friday – Kingdom Thinking: Success begins at the very first step.  True victory comes by first making Jesus Lord of your life and then understanding and walking in Kingdom Reality.

Debbie and I would love to hear from you with your questions, comments, prayer requests and/or testimonies.  We pray you have a truly blessed day and week in all that you put your hands to do!

Kingdom Thinking Thoughts Recap for the Week of September 9th

Greetings to all my friends and family,

Well another week has come and gone! For some, the week might have
been great and for others, you might be thanking God that it’s over.
Whichever one you are doing, it’s now a part of your life’s history. I
read a statement that said, “Yesterday is history and tomorrow is a
mystery, but today is a present, so make it count”. This is so true,
today is what you make it!

Here is a recap of last week’s Kingdom Thinking Thoughts. I pray each
one comes alive in you as you read them.

Monday – Kingdom Thinking: Make your mindset “I am Royalty by Kingdom
design, not words of man”!

Tuesday – Kingdom Thinking: Clarity of you is key to success in Him.

Wednesday – Kingdom Thinking: If your plan is about you and your
increase, then discard & start over! It’s not about you…. John
3:16 is our example.

Thursday – Kingdom Thinking: The reality of wholeness and completeness
in the Kingdom, must become functional reality and not just theory. Col.
1:12,13

Friday – Kingdom Thinking: Victim or conqueror – your choice. Take
this day “gladiator style”.

True victory comes by first making Jesus Lord of your life and then
understanding and walking in Kingdom Reality.

Debbie and I would love to hear from you with your questions,
comments, prayer requests and or testimonies.

We pray you have a truly blessed day and week in all that you put your
hands to do!

Kingdom Leadership

If you are a leader by title or just by example, there is always room for growth. We never come to the end of the learning cycle of life. Throughout history, we have had some great examples of leadership; but not one person has or ever will be greater than the example that Jesus was, is and will always be. In this blog post, I want to focus on a man named Abram or better known to many, as “Abraham”.

I recently took some time to re-read about the life of Abram and his transition to a man called Abraham. Something I saw while I was reading was the great example Abraham was to us as a “Kingdom Leader”. Now the best way to get a clear picture of this is to take time and read about his life starting in Genesis 12 and see how God changed his life through his decisions of obedience – IT’S TRULY AWESOME! And to know that we have an even “better promise”, secured via what Jesus did at the cross for us, is beyond words. I heard it termed this way, “Abraham is a Kingdom prototype” and I do believe that to be very true!

I want to lay out 3 leadership traits Abraham showed in his life that ALL leaders should walk in:

1. A faithful & loyal leader will risk ALL to venture into the unknown for the vision or cause that he or she has been called into. This shows the passion we have for the cause! (In Genesis 12:1-5 we can read about how Abram/Abraham risked all to follow God’s command.)

2. A Godly leader is NOT moved by facts but presses beyond in faith. (In Genesis 17:1-27 we read how Abraham & Sarah were not moved by the facts of age that tried to tell them that they could not have what God had promised them.)

3. Godly leaders will sacrifice all to fulfill the God-given call on their lives. (In Genesis 22:1-19 we see how Abraham moved on God’s command no matter how strange it sounded. BUT let me note here, that God is NOT going to have you sacrifice your family for the calling, because the ultimate and final sacrifice has already been offered through Jesus.)

I believe if we will make the decision to put these 3 qualities into effect in our lives, we cannot fail!

I want to challenge you to take leadership to a new level of excellence in your life and watch the fruit of it come alive around you.

Kingdom Thinking Thought Recap for the week of September 3rd….

can also discover who we are!

I pray each of the Kingdom Thinking Thoughts come alive in you as you

laws! So start living like it!

True victory comes by first making Jesus Lord of your life and then
understanding and walking in Kingdom Reality.

Peace and Joy

Well the end of summer is getting closer and my favorite time of the year is drawing nearer. I love the Fall season all the way through to the Spring. I love the colors and the freshness that is in the air. Have you ever noticed how for most, it brings a spirit of peace and joy?

Life is made to be that way for God’s kids 24/7/365 because we are to create an environment of peace wherever we are and wherever we go. But we cannot be carriers of that which we do not have! The Word tells us in Nehemiah 8:10 NIV – “That the joy of the Lord is our strength” and I can’t see my God being anything but joyful.

I recently had a thought, “A critical spirit and a humble heart cannot dwell in the same person”. One of those will take over and that is what will illuminate out towards others, especially those that are closest to us. This is another reason we need peace and joy in our lives, so that our heart is right. A right heart is humble and in that heart you find peace and joy.

So how do we get to a place of peace and joy? I am glad you asked! You have to see yourself as living from there and not as always trying to get there. I know it might sound strange, but in victory is peace and joy but we have to make it our dwelling place and not our destiny. 1 Cor 15:57 AMP – “But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Victory has to be seen as a dwelling place and not as a destiny. Peace and joy are always something we are going to when victory is a destiny. So make victory your home now and forevermore and let peace and joy illuminate out of you for the entire world to see.

the desire to serve & not be served.

True victory comes by first making Jesus Lord of your life and then
understanding and walking in Kingdom Reality.

Promotion – Part 2

In my last post, I started setting the groundwork for teaching on “Your Promotion”. Last week, I was on the road on a ministry trip and had a major computer issue before leaving, so I was not able to send this out; but I am back and away we go!

While away on my trip, I spoke at a youth service in CA on the very topic of Promotion. One thing we must realize about our promotion, is that we have already received the greatest promotion possible on this earth when we made Jesus our Lord. Nothing else can compare to that, but yet many times it’s the least of our focus. The benefits are beyond anything this world could EVER offer or dream of offering and they are eternal! YES, ETERNAL!!! Now I am not saying we should not want promotion in our lives. We live in a world where many people compromise their character to climb the ladder of success only to find that their time at the top is only temporary. I believe that what we compromise to get, we will have to compromise to keep. But through God, success and promotion in this world does not need to come through compromise. His favor can and will open doors no man can shut.

To receive God’s level of promotion, we must have faith and fullness of trust in Him but also walk in excellence in all that we do. Colossians 3:23 (AMP) “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men” . I can hear it now, “I am not going to serve that man or woman like that!” If that’s your heart and level of service, then you have compromised your character. The Bible says in Genesis 1 that we are “made in His image” and if that is true, which it is, then we also have His character. If promotion is not based on character along with ability, then the return on the promotion is not going to be all it should be. Even on the job, I would rather it be God who opens the door for promotion instead of me and my works, because it takes an eternal place in my life if it is from Him.

So the end result of this is, if we don’t make life about us but instead make it about Him and live according to Kingdom design, then promotion and success will come! If you have not yet seen it, be patient and realize that God is not on your time schedule but you are to be on His. Until next time, keep reaching forward!

Debbie and I would love to hear from you. You can post your comments below or send us an email directly through our contact page. Until next week, keep pressing forward!
